Acer Chromebook R11 Convertible | All You Need To Know

The Acer Chromebook R11 Convertible is a low-end Chromebook made for people who want a cheap device for browsing the web that can also be used as a tablet. It’s an old device that costs almost $400, so it can’t compete with newer, better products from other companies. However, because it’s small and can be used as a tablet, it could be the best Chromebook for writers on a budget.

Why did we like the Acer Chromebook R11 Convertible?

The Acer Chromebook R11 Convertible is a small Chromebook with good performance, a good 11-inch screen, and a lot of flexibility when it’s in tablet mode because it can run Android apps from the Google Play Store.

It’s a good buy if you just want to use Google Docs and the built-in Google Chrome browser. But, like the Acer Chromebook R 11, it only has a small amount of storage.

It’s small and has an HD screen with touch support and IPS technology.

It’s slow, and it’s not worth much.

Do You Know About the Display Resolution of Acer Chromebook R11?

The Chromebook R11 Convertible’s screen is average by every definition of the word (if you need a Chromebook with a better display, then you should read our Acer Chromebook Spin 13 Review). You’re looking at a basic 11.6″ 1366768 IPS panel with thick bezels and touch support. It could be better, but it could also be much worse.

It’s interesting that it uses IPS technology for a screen this size and resolution. Most 768p panels are terrible TN panels with bad viewing angles, colours, etc., but this one has a good panel. It doesn’t have a lot of contrast, but the colours are good enough for the price, and the resolution is good enough for a laptop.

But if screen quality is important to you, you’re better off with an Acer Chromebook 514 or an Asus Chromebook Flip C302. Both have better screens and better hardware for about the same price, though they cost a bit more.

How good is the Battery on the Acer Chromebook R11 Convertible?

The Chromebook R11 Convertible has pretty good battery life. It looks like it would have a bad battery because of its small screen and old processor, but that’s not true. At half brightness, it lasts just over 9 hours on a charge, which is great for such a small screen. It should have plenty of power to last through long writing sessions.

The Acer Chromebook R11 Convertible is right on the line between being usable and being too big for a tablet. It’s not just light for a laptop; you can easily throw it in a bag and carry it around. Its weight is about average for its size class. As a tablet, though, it’s a bit big. Holding a nearly 3-pound, 11-inch slate like a tablet for long periods of time would not be fun.

Do You Know About the Durability of Acer Chromebook R11 Convertible?

The Chromebook R11 Convertible isn’t terrible when it comes to durability. It has a mostly plastic chassis at a price point where aluminium is almost always used, but at least its lid is made of aluminium.

The laptop has a textured surface to make it easier to hold, which makes it easy to carry around. The overall quality of the build is good. It looks cheap but works well, and it should hold up pretty well over time, though aluminium would have been a nice touch.

The Acer Chromebook R11 Convertible doesn’t have a lot of options for inputs. It has an HDMI port, an audio jack, a full-sized SD card slot, and one USB 2.0 Type-A port and one USB 3.0 Type-A port. The lack of USB C and the slowed-down USB 2.0 port are both bad, but it’s nice to see HDMI since Chromebooks rarely use it. Its keyboard isn’t very good. The keys are too close together and feel soft and spongy.

The Acer Chromebook R11 Convertible is a machine that is aggressively bad. Aside from how light it is and how small the screen is, nothing about it stands out. It has a bad screen, slow performance, a bad design, and cheap materials. Other machines in the same price range are much better than it.

I’m not expecting anything close to the quality of the Google Pixelbook i7, but it’s hard to recommend the Acer Chromebook R11 when machines like the Acer Chromebook 514 are better in every way and cost about the same. It’s a good buy if you really need its smaller size and somewhat usable tablet mode, but most people would be better off with a bigger, better machine.
