The Soundshirt allows a deaf person to feel the music

sound shirt

The SoundShirt is a werable Tech gadget that allows deaf persons to feel the music. it is designed by a London-based fashion Tech company named cutecircuit

The shirt features 16 micro-actuators embedded in the fabric of the garment. these sensors converts the music in real-time, into a Haptic sensation.

‘Essentially the entire composition comes to life as a language composed of a series of haptic (touch-like) sensations across the torso of the person

“What you hear… I can feel!”

In order to provide a comfortable experience for the wearer, the SoundShirt is created using specifically developed smart textiles; there are no wires at all in this piece of wearable technology.

All of the conductive pathways within the garment are composed of woven conductive textiles that are seamlessly integrated into the fabric of the garment.

The Visual design is a metaphor for the relationship that modulates in different frequencies between vibrations and sound waves. The connecting lines also act as a tacit illustration of stretchable microelectronic circuitry’s underlying data network.

The sound shirt comes from the award-winning hugshirt, the world’s first portable haptic telecommunication created in 2002 by cutecircuit.

The Hug Shirt allows you to send hugs over distance, this shirt awarded as one of the Best Inventions of the Year by Time Magazine in 2006.

The shirt sells for More than £3,000 GBP (approximately 3,387 EUR and 3,712 USD) and is currently available in a selection of package deals for museums and orchestras.

Each package comes with a sound transmitting Q antenna, 8 microphones, a mac or PC with pre-installed software, an audio converter, and a soundshirt 2.0
