  • Monocrystalline Solar Panels: Monocrystalline Solar Panels also known by another name which is the single-crystal solar panels. These panels are made up of pure and authentic silicon which adds to its purity and efficiency. The one and only drawback there is with the use of Monocrystalline Solar Panels is that a lot of silicon goes in waste to produce just one monocrystalline cell. At times the toll of the amount of Silicon that gets wasted sometimes even goes up to reach the 50% mark and it is for this reason that these are quite expensive.
  • Polycrystalline Solar Panels: As the name itself suggests these are evidently made up of more than one silicon crystal. There is hardly any wastage of silicon recorded in these types of panels which is all the reason why these are quite affordable and less expensive than monocrystalline cells, but at the same time these are also less efficient than monocrystalline cells.
  • Passive Emitter and Rear Cell Panels (PERC): These are but an improvement of the conventional Monocrystalline cells. Simply put PERC is an upgraded version of the conventional Monocrystalline cells. In here a passivation layer is added to the back surface of the cell and hence it enhances the efficiency of the cells.
  • Thin-film Panels: Unlike the other three mostly put in use solar panels, which are made of Silicon, these Thin-film Solar Panels are made up of different materials like Cadmium telluride (CdTe) Amorphous silicon (a-Si) Copper indium gallium selenide (CIGS).
